Cameron Norrie's Wimbledon Run Ends in Heartbreaking Defeat to Alexander Zverev

Norrie pushed Zverev to the limit in a thrilling four-set battle

Cameron Norrie's dream of becoming the first British man to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since Andy Murray in 2016 came to an end on Tuesday, as he was defeated 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(10), 6-4 by Alexander Zverev.

A Match of High Drama and Intensity

The match was played in front of a packed Centre Court crowd and was a battle of attrition from the start. Norrie, the 26th seed, started brightly and broke Zverev's serve in the opening game. However, Zverev, the fourth seed, broke back immediately and the first set went with serve until the 10th game, when Zverev broke Norrie again to take the set.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with both players holding serve until the 10th game. This time, it was Norrie who broke Zverev's serve to level the match at one set all.

The third set was the most dramatic of the match. Norrie broke Zverev's serve in the opening game and held on to his own serve to take a 2-0 lead. However, Zverev broke back in the fourth game and the set went with serve until the tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, Zverev raced into a 4-0 lead. Norrie fought back to level the tiebreak at 4-4, but Zverev won the next three points to take the set and move one set away from victory.

The fourth set was a tense affair, with both players holding serve until the 10th game. Zverev broke Norrie's serve in the 10th game to seal the victory and reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time.
