Cruise Tourism Returns to Guam

Island Welcomes Seventh Passenger Cruise Ship of the Year

Guam has welcomed its seventh passenger cruise ship of the year, the Carnival Luminosa, bringing nearly 2,900 visitors to the island. The arrival of the cruise ship marks a significant milestone in the recovery of Guam's tourism industry, which has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Surge in Tourist Arrivals

The cruise industry has been a major contributor to Guam's economy, and the return of passenger ships is expected to provide a much-needed boost. The following cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in Guam: Seabourn on May 14th and September 7th.

Revitalizing Tourism

The first cruise ship since the COVID-19 pandemic began sailed into Apra Harbor Friday morning, bringing a wave of tourists from distant shores. The arrival of the cruise ship was a welcome sight for Guam's tourism industry, which has been struggling to recover from the pandemic.

On Sunday, Guam welcomed 1,201 passengers and crew of MS Asuka II, the fourth cruise ship to visit the island since the start of 2024. The arrival of the cruise ship is a sign that Guam's tourism industry is slowly but surely recovering.
